Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:ILMN) shares are trading lower after the company appointed Jacob Thaysen as its new CEO. Thaysen, who previously served as the president of Agilent Technologies Inc’s (NYSE:A) life sciences and applied markets group, will start in the role on September 25. The appointment comes three months after former CEO Francis deSouza resigned amid a proxy battle with activist investor Carl Icahn over Illumina's $7.1 billion acquisition of cancer test maker Grail.
