The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated an investigation into approximately 1.3 million Ford F-150 pickup trucks from model years 2015-2017. The probe stems from over 130 consumer complaints about unexpected gear downshifts while driving at highway speeds, potentially causing wheel lock-up or skidding. No crashes or fires have been reported so far, and Ford is cooperating with the investigation.
