Electra Battery Materials has arranged $54 million in non-dilutive funding, including $34 million in government support, to complete its cobalt sulfate refinery in Ontario. The facility is expected to produce 6,500 tonnes of cobalt annually, supporting up to 1 million electric vehicles, and will be the only such refinery in North America with a low carbon footprint.
