Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is reportedly filming a new Model 3 variant in Spain, sparking discussions among enthusiasts on social media platform X about whether it is a Plaid or a Performance version. The filming in Valencia was captured by Tesla enthusiast Desmond Wisley, who shared videos of two vehicles, one in red and the other in solid black. Despite initial speculation of a Plaid variant, the badging on the vehicles suggests they are Ludicrous versions, an acceleration mode for Performance All-Wheel Drive Tesla vehicles. Tesla had unveiled a refreshed Model 3 in the U.S. in January, listing only rear-wheel drive and long-range variants, leading to speculation about the Performance variant's future. However, Tesla's head of Investor Relations confirmed the release of a refreshed Model 3 Performance variant in a communication to TV presenter James May.
