Will SEC's Comment Period On Fidelity's Spot Ethereum ETF Application Lead To Regulated Investment Options?
Portfolio Pulse from Khyathi Dalal
The SEC has opened a public comment period on a proposed rule change that could allow Fidelity to offer a spot Ethereum ETF. The Cboe BZX Exchange would list and trade shares of the Fidelity Ethereum fund if approved. Fidelity filed for the fund on Nov. 17, 2023, and a 240-day review period has started. The approval would provide U.S. investors with regulated investment options similar to those available in Europe. Currently, U.S. investors have limited and riskier options for ether exposure.
