Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 21.5% of new vehicle registrations in California for the first nine months of 2023, nearly three times the national average. Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) led the pack with 183,278 registrations, followed by General Motors Co (NYSE:GM) with 15,152. Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:RIVN) saw the biggest jump in registrations, up 176.8% to 6,740 units. Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE:TM) remains the best-selling automaker overall.
