Rivian Vehicles Charged From Wind, Solar Energy To Be Delivered Soon
Portfolio Pulse from Anan Ashraf
Rivian Automotive Inc (NASDAQ:RIVN) has announced that its customers will soon receive vehicles charged by entirely renewable energy sources. The company has installed a 2.8-megawatt wind turbine at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois, which will work in conjunction with a 783-kilowatt solar canopy installed earlier this year. The renewable energy sources will power the company’s outbound charging yard and ensure the first charge of vehicles is powered by renewable energy. The turbine is capable of producing 10 million kWh annually, enough to charge 150,000 vehicles every year.
