Apple Inc. has unveiled the M3-powered MacBooks and a new iMac, comparing the M3 chip with the M1 chip to demonstrate the efficiency and performance improvements. The M3 chip, based on the A17 Pro chip, is manufactured on a 3nm fabrication process, while the M1 chip is based on a 5nm process. Apple claims the M3 chip delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance, 60% faster neural performance, and its GPU is 50% more power efficient than the M1's. The M3 chip also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, while the M1 chip supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
