Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has built a new AI supercomputer, Austral, for CRIANN, a high-performance computing and AI data center in Normandy, France. The supercomputer will aid in accelerating scientific discovery and innovation in various fields such as climate modeling, biotechnology, healthcare, and materials science. The project is part of France's national AI strategy and is co-funded by the Normandy Region, the French State, and the European Union.
