OpenAI, backed by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), is preparing for its first developer conference, OpenAI DevDay, on November 6. CEO Sam Altman has clarified that there will be no major AI model releases like GPT-5 or 4.5 at the event. The conference will feature updates on Global Illumination, an AI design studio acquired by OpenAI, and possibly on the availability of GPT-4's image understanding capabilities. OpenAI, which currently generates over $80 million in monthly revenue, aims to generate more than $1 billion in revenue by selling AI software and computing capacity within the next year.
