UMass Chan Medical School has announced a study to examine the transmission of cytomegalovirus (CMV) in early education settings. The study, in collaboration with biotech company Moderna, will investigate how CMV spreads among children and households. The findings will inform the design of CMV prevention strategies. CMV is the most common infectious cause of birth defects globally, and the study aims to reduce its spread in group settings.
