Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) is under scrutiny over a security breach that allowed Chinese hackers to spy on top Biden administration officials. The breach is believed to be worse than initially thought, compromising the unclassified Microsoft email inboxes of senior State Department officials, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, and others. Senator Ron Wyden has requested three separate federal probes into Microsoft's alleged negligent cybersecurity practices. The hack has affected more than two dozen organizations globally, with fewer than ten organizations compromised in the U.S.
