Aiden Pleterski, Ontario’s self-proclaimed “crypto king,” has been allegedly kidnapped by five men seeking to recover their investments. Among the accused is Akil Heywood, who claims to have lost $740,000 to Pleterski. Pleterski's case is part of a year-long bankruptcy proceeding, where investors are attempting to recover over $40 million lost under his management. Pleterski himself had only invested $670,000, a mere 2% of the total funds, into cryptocurrency.
